While I was awaiting a reply, I spent some time searching and came to the
same conclusion.  There are several doorkits available.  The one I decided
to download is called DoorFrame.  It seems to have the most features and
supports fossil.  I'll give it a try.  Worst case, I'll just have to get
creative with scripts.  If you think of the name of the one you've used in the
past, please let me know; it might save me some time.

I used a modified VBBS-AUX as my main go-to "container" for source code
mods that I didn't want in the main program.  It saved me a lot of time
and effort.  I kinda got spoiled being able to use random access files for
the BBS mods.
