Nope, won't help.  The ISA portion of a VLB slot is plain ISA.

Could be, but unlikely.  A test you can do on the CPU is to shut of the
cache; there should be key combination to do it.  An unusual problem,
but it does crop up; usually when running 32 bit code though.

Definitely, most likely problem is the driver, second is the BIOS.
Might check for an update of your motherboard BIOS too if you worried.
