Hi everyone.

In the script I wrote to run MultiMail on my Windows 11 system, I 
noticed I had to keep running the script as admin to get it to resize 
the window.  I'm using cmd.exe.

I wound up asking Google and here is what Gemini told me:

"Even if you launch your batch file explicitly using cmd.exe, Windows 
11 still intercepts the execution and forces it to open inside the 
new modern app called Windows Terminal.

Because Windows Terminal acts as a wrapper around cmd.exe, legacy 
cmd.exe sizing controls (like mode con) are blocked unless the 
application runs with full Administrator privileges."

However, it offered me several solutions and I chose this one:

"You can globally configure Windows 11 to stop routing standalone 
command line script files into the new Windows Terminal app. Doing so 
lets cmd.exe rely on its original legacy background app 
(conhost.exe), restoring the functionality of your existing mode con 
line.

1. Press the Windows Key, type Terminal, and launch the app.

2. Click the down-arrow icon on the top tab bar and open Settings.

3. Click the Startup menu category on the left sidebar.

4. Look for the setting titled "Default terminal application" or 
"Launch-type for stand-alone scripts".

5. Change the selection from Windows Terminal or Let Windows decide 
over to Windows Console Host.

Once you save those preferences, any standard user executing a batch 
file can resize the window using standard mode con variables."

This solution is working well so far for me.  Thought I'd share this.
