Recently, I pulled a 256GB NVME/PCIe card from an all-in-one computer (priced at $12 as-is). I ordered a properly matching case for it - it was actually sold as a pair of cases. But 'zon sent the wrong match. The order description did NOT match the actual product that I received. The product that I got was actually LABELLED for "NGFF/SATA" So, I requested a refund - and got that without needing to return the case. Now.. I have a couple of "free" NGFF/SATA cases. Is it worth loading them with new SATA SSDs? I see that basic 256GB M.2 SATA SSD is about $60. But NVME/PCIe is *much* faster for the same price. 128GB M.2 SATA SSD is about $40. BTW.. the 256GB NVME/PCIe card ($12) works great in a properly matching case. -- ../|ug --- OpenXP 5.0.64 * Origin: (618:400/23.10) |
