And from what I read about netbooks was that users quickly outgrew their limited usefulness and wanted more resources and more options instead. But at reduced ram like 1GB ram that was simply not possible. I don't recall what bitversion (32/64) the Win7 I witnessed on 2GB was, but certain things were simply horribly slow. Even deleting marked emails in Thunderbird took way too long before control was released to the user. So, to operate a windowed environment at 2G or less? ..no thanks.
