     I hope your VUUCP tosses faster than mine does or you will need a
special line just to net. ;-)  I get well over 200 posts a day in
misc.writing each day.  It's a good newsgroup for professional writers but
beginners are ignored.  There's a lot of silliness in that newsgroup.  Great
group to read over coffee but not a heck-of-a-lot of usefull information
other than the FAQ.
