Time to post your goals for the week of 5/20/95. Be sure to post
progress from last week as well. If you are a Writer's Workshop lurker, come
and join us in posting our goals for the week. You will be glad uou did!
Post weekly goals! Give it a try, just once. I promise it will really
help keep you on track with your current projects. Send out the GOAL POST
every week by Saturday. Make it a habit to start posting your goals with
us.
My goals for last week and progress report...
1. Call and make an appointment to meet with the second editor mentioned in
last week's goal #5.
I called the editor. She was out of the office so I mailed off a letter.
2. Continue working on the June issue!
The June issue is nearly completed.
3. I'm leaving most of the rest of the week open in case I get assignments
from the editors. If I DON'T get assignments, I'll continue to edit my
book. (I did edit the first three chapters this week and it wasn't even
one of my goals.)
Got the first chapter back from Patti on Friday and I did another edit on
it and returned it to her for another look.
My goals for this week are to...
1. Send letters out to several more area editors to let them know that I
am available for assignments.
2. Continue to edit my novel DREAMS.
On a personal note:
It was a busy week for me. Besides the goals met above, I finished some
work for a company in California, kept a dental appointment and even managed
to weed my flower beds!
It's also been a week of stress as my husband is now looking for a new
employer. When he was assigned a piece rate job that would take four days
that would end up paying only $78, he decided enough was enough. Fortunately,
he has some loyal former employers who will give him good references and in
the insulation business, it's hard to find anyone with his track record of 15
years of service. So I suspect he'll have a new job by week's end. And in
fact has prospects calling him already. But it's no less stressful for me.
All in all, it's been a productive week for me. I feel like I
accomplished a lot and I'm still moving ahead so I'm happy.
Rhia
Have a great writing week!

WRITER'S WORKSHOP PRAYER
The Writer's Workshop is a place where myself and several other
writers of vastly different backgrounds in writing, hope to come to
discuss the ins and outs of the writing business. This is a place we
hope will become home to writers who take what they do seriously, be
they beginners or seasoned professionals; people who want to learn and
share with others.
We encourage everyone to share the rejections and of course the
highlights, so that we can celebrate with you. This should be a place of
sharing and a place of laughter, NOT A PLACE TO SHOW OFF OR CONDEMN!
Everyone is welcome to share their views, but PLEASE, NO PUBLIC BASHING!
(Use E-mail for that. <G>
