Ŀ Ŀ ķ Ŀ Ŀ Ŀ Ķ Ŀ Time to post your goals for the week of 5/27/95. Be sure to post progress from last week as well. If you are a Writer's Workshop lurker, come and join us in posting our goals for the week. You will be glad uou did! Post weekly goals! Give it a try, just once. I promise it will really help keep you on track with your current projects. Send out the GOAL POST every week by Saturday. Make it a habit to start posting your goals with us. My goals for last week and progress report... 1. Send letters out to several more area editors to let them know that I am available for assignments. I did it! Send out nine new letters and one follow-up letter to an editor I'd contacted 10 days earlier. 2. Continue to edit my novel DREAMS. Didn't do much on this one this week. I just didn't have the time. My goals for this week are to... 1. Send out at least five more letters to area editors seeking writing and photography assignments. 2. Rework the first two paragraphs of my novel. I have a weak opening and it really needs fixing. 3. Wrap up the June issue and get it to the printer. I'm currently waiting for the art work to arrive. On a personal note: I spent the first two mornings of my working week, helping my daughter on her State Report for school. She did all the work and then asked me to put it all in book form in my desktop publishing program. It actually turned out quite nicely. After that was finished I spent a couple of hours doing some work for a company I've been working for out of California. The client was happy with the work. I spent one whole morning writing letters to the nine editors I mentioned in my goal report. I wrote a rather generic letter and then changed one paragraph to give it a personal touch to each of the editors. I also received my CD player from Marlboro. It's pretty nice and since it only cost me $10 for shipping, I don't have to suffer through buyer's remorse. :-) I went to a store and they were priced at $130 for the same model. Rhia Have a great writing week! Read on for more information about Writer's Workshop and Writer's Workshop Review Magazine. WRITER'S WORKSHOP PRAYER The Writer's Workshop is a place where myself and several other writers of vastly different backgrounds in writing, hope to come to discuss the ins and outs of the writing business. This is a place we hope will become home to writers who take what they do seriously, be they beginners or seasoned professionals; people who want to learn and share with others. We encourage everyone to share the rejections and of course the highlights, so that we can celebrate with you. This should be a place of sharing and a place of laughter, NOT A PLACE TO SHOW OFF OR CONDEMN! Everyone is welcome to share their views, but PLEASE, NO PUBLIC BASHING! (Use E-mail for that. <G> |
