You mean millions of professional welfare recepients would have to get off
their lazy asses and work?
(Welfare was meant to be a hand up, not a handout, and while there are
exceptions, that's what they are and
many on welfare can work but choose not to.) Damn, what a concept!

There's always going to be illegal immigration but a physical barrier, built
correctly, would impede a lot of
what is happening now. California is an excellent example of what happens when
illegal immigration is left
unchecked. I remember living in the Inland Empire back in the 80s. It was a
pretty decent place. Now you
couldn't pay me enough to live in California (even Northern California). It's
turned into a shithole and
that's sad for me considering I was born in California. I'll visit but I'll
never live there again.

The minimum wage is an artificial construct that's hurting our economy, and not
helping it. I heard recently
that mimimum wage workers are less than 2% of the US' overall economy but if
you add in the costs of
assistance to help them, including welfare, jacking the minimum wage to $15 is
only going to hurt everyone
including those not involved.

Later,
Sean
