I have a serious issue with all the folks complaining that we need to make
it easier, but only for certain types of immigrants.  I have friends who
have become citizens and had no trouble doing so legally... why we should
make exceptions, but for only certain groups, is beyond me.

From a humanitarian standpoint, anyway.  I know the real reason.  One party
takes for granted that persons of certain ethnicities, should they ever
have a chance, are certain to vote for their party, while other ethnicities
are not as certain.  This thinking drives their views, and also lead to
them losing the last Presidential election.

I also wonder this.  I am guessing that we give better handouts than their
home country.

Agreed.  I have many friends here who are not from the US.  What makes me
angry is that it is so difficult for them to travel back home because they
do everything trying to be legal when there are others that thumb their
noses at our laws, are encouraged to do so, and are able to get away with
it.

Meanwhile, my legal friends get extra-hassled because of the law-breakers.
