Yeah... they don't have a problem telling a lot of us what we need to say
and do just so long as they don't have to say or do it, too.

Yes, they are.  I am sure that some stories get sensationalized, but a lot
of that illegal traffic involves human trafficking and other dangerous
things.  They would have us believe that relaxing the borders would make
that go away, but that only would apply (in theory) to Mexicans.  All the
others from further South have to cross Mexico illegally to get to our
border, so the trafficking, etc., would continue.
