SR> a way if they are desperate enough. Surely better to the money to better SR> use in trying to keep people at home I've been wondering why the US doesn't get more involved (somehow) with local politics in southern LDCs. I suppose we can't force them to give up corruption, but maybe give them incentives for getting their people to stay? Maybe we can reward them with prize money for every major drug conviction they make, and pay like $1000 for every illegal they take back home? Could that be less costly than a $5 billion dollar wall? I'm no expert, and my ideas are a little crazy, but isn't there other stuff that can be done to make people want to stay in their home countries, like the charming El Salvador? |
