Ads for in-game cosmetics began to show up in Call of DutyΓÇÖs in-game
gunsmith, prompting outrage from fans before Activision removed them. Despite
the publisherΓÇÖs claim the ads were introduced in error, players are voicing
distrust about the mistake and the ongoing increase in monetization efforts.
