I'm replying to this so that others can benefit from the answer.   I
recommend to all of my users that they use Syncterm these days unless they want
to try their hand at using a helper program with the BBS version of Trade Wars
2002.  It works with everything that I run on my BBS and is available on just
about every platform that most people use as their primary OS including Mac and
*NIX users.  If that's not sufficient, roll your own since it's open-sourced.
