Northern Intermountain Region/Northern Rockies on Thursday, tapering off
on Friday...

...There is a Slight Risk of excessive rainfall over parts of the Southern
High Plains on Thursday and over parts of the Southwest on Friday and
Saturday...

A quasi-stationary area of low pressure just off the Pacific Northwest
Coast will stream moisture into the Northwest Coast, producing rain and
highest�elevation snow over the Cascades and Northern Intermountain
Region on Thursday into Friday evening. Furthermore, a front extending
from the Upper Great Lakes to the Southern High Plains will advance
eastward off the Northeast Coast by Friday evening. The system will
produce rain with embedded thunderstorms over the Upper Great Lakes and
rain over the Lower Great Lakes through late Thursday night. Additionally,
scattered light rain showers will develop over parts of the Northeast
through Friday evening. Easterly flow off the Atlantic will bring rain
with embedded thunderstorms over parts of Florida through Saturday.

In addition, upper-level energy will move over the Southern High Plains,
creating heavy rain over the region Thursday into Friday. Therefore, the
WPC has issued a Slight Risk (level 2/4) of excessive rainfall over the
Southern High Plains with these thunderstorms on Thursday through Friday
morning. The associated heavy rain will create mainly localized areas of
flash flooding, with urban areas, roads, small streams, narrow
canyons/gullies, and burn scars the most vulnerable.

Moreover, flow off the Gulf of California and upper-level energy will aid
in producing showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain over the Southwest
on Friday. The WPC has issued a Slight Risk (level 2/4) of excessive
rainfall over the Southwest with these thunderstorms on Friday through
Saturday morning. The associated heavy rain will create mainly localized
areas of flash flooding, with urban areas, roads, small streams, narrow
canyons/gullies, and burn scars the most vulnerable.

Flow off the Gulf of California will continue on Saturday, creating heavy
rain over parts of the Southwest and far southeastern California.
Therefore, the WPC has issued a Slight Risk (level 2/4) of excessive
rainfall over parts of the Southwest and far southeastern California on
Saturday into Sunday morning. In addition, as moisture moves northward
over the Great Basin, rain with high-elevation snow will develop over
parts of the Great Basin, the Northern Intermountain Region, and the
Central Rockies from Friday into Saturday morning.
