   Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Rain and showers in western Europe, drier in the east

   Sunday
Northern Portugal and northern Spain face scattered showers, while the
south basks in sunshine. Across France, heavy rain slides
southeastward, leaving plenty of coastal showers in its wake. The
British Isles experience a mix of sunshine and showers, some heavy and
thundery. The Low Countries start cloudy with outbreaks of rain,
spreading into northern Germany later. In contrast, southern Germany
enjoys a mostly dry and sunny day. Further north, southern Norway,
Sweden, and Finland see showers, while northern areas remain brighter
and drier. The Baltic States, eastern Poland, and western Belarus face
heavy showers, while Ukraine enjoys a largely dry, sunny day.
Central Europe fares better, with Switzerland, Austria, and Czechia
seeing mostly dry, sunny conditions. Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, and
the Balkans, however, will contend with cloudy skies and heavy showers
   through the day.
High pressure dominates much of the Mediterranean, bringing warm
sunshine to the Balearics, Sardinia, and Corsica. Italy, Greece,
T├╝rkiye, and Cyprus also enjoy bright, settled weather, feeling locally
   hot at times.

   Monday
Showers for northern Spain on Monday, but fair for the rest of Portugal
and Spain. Scattered showers in the Balearics. Heavy showers in Corsica
but dry in Sardinia. Thunderstorms for the northern half of Italy, dry
in the south with sunshine here. Greece and Turkey will be dry with
   sunshine.
Frequent, widespread showers across France and into the Low Countries.
Germany will have some showers in the north and west. Poland should be
dry with sunny spells. Hungary will be dry with sunny spells here.
Western Austria and Switzerland wil be thundery with some torrential
   downpours.
Denmark sees outbreaks of rain throughout the day. Sweden will be dry
with sunshine. The Baltic States and Finland will also be dry with
sunny spells. Further cloud and some outbreaks of rain in western and
   southern Norway.
