   Europe forecast - November 25, 2024
   Rain band progresses east
   Windy North Sea

   Issued: 0530hrs Monday 25th November 2024
   Duty forecaster: Dan Graves

   Rain sweeps across the Continent.

   Monday
Heavy rain in the morning for Portugal but soon turning dry and sunny.
Spain will see a similar pattern with rain clearing east midday. Over
France, the Low Countries, Northeast Germany, and Denmark, expect a
band of heavy rain to spread east throughout the day. Winds will be
stronger around this band of rain. Windy for northern parts of the
British Isles along with showers, drier further south. Poland will see
a dry and bright day. Some rain is expected for southern Norway and
Sweden. Cloudy with outbreaks of rain for Finland. The Baltic states
will be largely dry though mostly cloudy, whereas Belarus and Ukraine
   will be mostly sunny.
A dry bright start for Switzerland but heavy rain arrives overnight
with snow on the mountains. Austria and the other Central European
countries will see a dry day, potentially quite sunny, but increasingly
cloudy from the west. Romania and the Balkans will see a crisp sunny
   day.
Dry but rather cloudy for the Balearics. Sunny over Sardinia and
Corsica. Some showers for Italy while Greece will experience a crisp
sunny day. Some snow for eastern Turkey, a few showers for Cyprus.

   Tuesday
A cloudy morning in Portugal and Spain will give way to intermittent
sun in the west. The Balearics and Sardinia and Corsica will be mostly
sunny, though the afternoon may bring some showers to western S&C.
Italy will experience a similar situation. Slovenia and coastal Croatia
will experience persistent rain throughout the day, with occasional
heavy pockets. The remainder of the Balkans, Greece, and Turkey will
enjoy a mostly calm mostly sunny day.
A band of rain along the English Channel will migrate along the north
coast bringing rain to Netherlands and Belgium midday and scattered
showers to northern Germany in the afternoon. In the later afternoon,
another push of heavy rain will arrive in northwest France and
southwest England bringing heavy rains eastward through the night.
Several bands of rain will impact the northern UK and western Norway
and Denmark. Particularly strong westerly winds will impact Denmark's
west coast in the afternoon. Snow clears away from the central Europe
Alps in the morning though clouds will linger throughout the day. A
thin band of rain will stretch from Austria through Poland and the
Baltics, bringing a wave of midday rain. A possibility of sun behind
this rain band for east Germany and west Poland.
Scandinavia likely to experience extensive cloud throughout the day,
though brighter spells may fall along southern Sweden. Expect rain and
   snow along west coasts.
